My girls and I especially love to set out on our bikes along the winding trail that skirts the dramatic shoreline of Monterey Bay, revealing spectacular ocean vistas like the one in Sunset on Monterey Bay. As I set to work, the setting sun painted the clouds and mirror surface of the ocean with luminous colors; I worked feverishly to capture the glorious radiance.I recently showed the original of Sunset on Monterey Bay to a private gathering of collectors.
